Well, I have a 850 NH roller and have had pretty good luck with for years.

It is time to move on since it is starting to cost more to keep it running than it is worth.
Just wore slam out. Also, want to down size rolls some for customers that have smaller tractors. 4x5 or so.

Question is what NH chain baler would be ya'lls next chioice?

I kinda like the 845,846 balers but have not had much dealings with them.Guy has an 852 that he might sell, his dad bought it new he said the last year they made them, don't know what year that is though.

Ya'll think about it and let me know what you think.

I used a NH850 baler for years and bought parts from Shoupe manufacturing. I have a JD535 that I like. My father-in-law has a NH849 with auto wrap that is a good baler. It has springs instead of air bags, and a roller instead of chains in the bottom. 849 makes a smaller bale.

I don"t know how much money you have to spend, but you may try looking at a Krone Variopack 1500. They are hard to find used. The only one I ever saw used on the internet was luckily 10 miles away from me for almost half the MSRP (less than 1 year old too!). It has the confort monitor and computerized control system thingy...really nice operating. Only downside is that this thing is HEAVY!!! It makes 4x5 bales max (can make 4x3 minimum and it is a variable chamber chain and slat, not a fixed chamber like most). If you have something around 80 hp, you should be alright. If you are interested, e-mail me. Not sure where you are, but if you are near central Ky, I would be glad to let you come see it and see it bale horse manure. Not a NH chainer, but is the same design, just improved a lot.
