Roger, that is exactly how I fix lots of stuff. I use my old junk and am not as picky as collectors and purist with it. I figure if it works it works. My grandpa always told me now George it don't have to be perfect to work. I made radius arm bushings for my old 78 Ford truck out of old truck tires, they held up as well as the originals. I bet those made from that hammer look almost original. I sold my wide front several years ago and now wish I had it back. I use a one row transplanter to set garden plants and it would straddle the row instead of running right on it. Oh Well.
