Tomorrow I'm planning on going to look at a 8"x33' Hutchinson grain auger. What are some things I should look for? How do I know if the flighting is bad? Thanks!

Look for thin or "bumpy" flighting.Eyeball the unit to see if it's straight, and don't buy it unless you can see the auger running at rated pto speed.Shouldn't shake at all.

Also look at the cable to see if any fraying is present. One drop to the ground and the auger is done for. ~brad
