Naw,

Way too wet. Got an inch and a half last night.

Then, all the cattle went thru the fence and into the neighbor's 100 head of cows, so guess tomorrow is gonna be a cowboyin'/sortin’ day.

On top of that, I promised another neighbor up on the ridge that I’d cut his wheat for him also and he’s pacin’ the floor waiting on me. Says standing $5.60 wheat makes him kinda nervous. :>)

Think I'm about ready to rethink my "vacation avoidance” policy. :>)

Looks like you lost the heat and got some rain. Good swap.

Feel your pain on the cows. At least you don't have to chase them through thick woods with briars and vines grabbing at you with insect bites thrown in for good measure.

The hard part is gonna be sortin' 'em out from whatever outfit they are in with.

Looks like a day for the really old fashioned horsepower. :>(

Using horses should make things a lot easier. Horses or ATVs aren't worth a hoot in thick woods.

Just word of advice, the custom combinig doesn;t really pay out and you will get calls to do little patches anywhere from thirty to 60 miles away. Nobody in my area will combine wheat rye or oats, they don't want to get there combines dirty, can't even rent one from the local dealer either. did that routine for several years and said no last season,if you do charge by the hr ONLY. In fact my machine sold yesterday and is headed to New York. Have fun, watch out for the harrow sections cause you can't believe what some guys leave in the fields

This isn't "custom combining" by any stretch of the imagination.

This is my neighbor with 53 acres of wheat that needs to be cut and he asked me for help. Wouldn’t even think of charging him other than maybe the fuel.

Only part I don't like is roading that wide machine some 17 odd miles back in here to "civilization" and then crawling it up on that darned ridge.

Heck of a long, steep hill and up a narrow public roadway to climb to get up to his fields. Need two “pacer” trucks to get up there; one in front and one behind to keep the local traffic off my back. :>(
