Hi Gang;
This is Island Farm's CaseIH (standing next to that McCormick on the previous post). Most farmers here have front weights to counter-act the heavy weight of 3 point implements and to aid traction on the front wheels.
Yes the slatted boards in the end wall of the shed are for ventilation.
Island Farm is a 650 acre "bump" on the coast and is surounded by sea on 3 of the 4 sides. So its almost unheard of to have snow fall on it. But we do get some snow (for a few days) 3 miles inland on the mountain.
The climate is so mild that the farmers who grow early potatoes in this area plant them in late January & early February.
David

Hi;
I am (an early) retired agricultural machinery salesman now living in West Wales. Spent my working life selling implements to the dealers as a manufacturers & importers Area Sales Manager. Sold both agricultural sized and compact tractor sized implements. As well as sales, I covered instalation of new machines to farmers, service and demonstration work, plus exhibitions.
Ive owned & restored several vintage & classic tractors over the years; currently own Fordson Diesel and Super Major tractors.
Enjoying our retirement in a beautiful part of the country, and taking photos of places and farming scenes & tractors.
Cheers David

David,
I really enjoy your posts. Are you a higher middle-class farmer. Looks like you can afford the newer and more reliable equipment that is required to farm now adays. Do you own the farm (land) or do you farm rented or shared land? Try to keep those nice tractors clean. cheers ;o)

Hi, David, nice pictures. I'm curious as to why the slatted boards are down low on sidewall instead of near the top? Most all vents over here are in or near the roof. Chris
