I have a worn out old grinding wheel for sharpening blades on a sickle bar mower. It has a larger diameter center which enables you to sharpen one side of two blades at the same time. Does any one know where a new one could be purchased. Nobody seems to use these any more. Thanks,

I dont know much about sickle bar mowers but maybe a flap wheel disc on an angle grinder would work as it sharpens it but doesnt remove as much metal as a regular wheel thats what i use on my lawn mowers works good just a thought

I have the bevel wheel but it won't fit my McCormick-Deering hand grinder. Maybe it will fit other makes. The bore is about 5/8". OD is about 6". It is new. Mfgd by Bay State Abrasives. I am looking for a smaller stone. I think I am going to try some old timey hardward stores or general stores in a "backwater" town. Next time I'm in VT, I expect to find one.

This question came up a few weeks back. Most responses were along the lines of using a disk on an angle grinder. I use a air powered die grinder with a 4 1/2" disk. Can do faster with that than a grinder wheel.
