I have been searching for prices on a ROPS and for a winch to mount on the front of the tractor. Anybody know a good place?

Well, I have gotten lucky! I asked the gentleman from whom I am purchasing my tractor and he says he has one sitting on the side. It's never been involved in a crash, and since he has it, I'm having him install it. He wanted a $100 for it, so I took him up on it. $2800 for tractor, $150 for canopy to put it all under (rains a LOT here), $100. for roll bar, and about $300 for a good 5' bush-hog and he'll help me bring it all over. $3350 in total for everything.... Not bad, eh? Still waiting to get it all here though!!!!! !

for a rops a dealer is the best place or talk to your local welder they can build a good one as cheap and probley better ,and as far as a winch for a tractor WARN now makes a brute of a winch that also has a built in air compresser which would be the handiest thing on a farm since you always have more flats tires than the need for the winch .and there again the local welder can build you a mounting bracket to adapt the winch to your tractor . google warn winchs

You would think, but my property is wet a LOT of the time (rains a LOT and water table is high)and I'm figuring it will get stuck a lot and I'll need to be able to winch myself out with a local Oak tree or my truck. Hence me wanting a ROPS, cause my two kids and I are the only ones around most all of the day. Don't want to be stuck under that dang thing with no one around!

Then you may also want to think about a tractor with front wheel assist and maybe larger tires to float it thru the wet spots as well . And buy yourself a nylon choker strap to tie to trees to prevent damage to the bark that can kill them

Don't listen to anybody that says either. You don't need a rops or other safety equipment " if you know how to work smart". Or tells that" you can build a better rops at home for less $$$".
