All depends on if you're talking about model year, or actual date of production. The eighth digit in the VIN code tells you. "K" is not a Powerstroke, and "M" is. Many 1994 model-year trucks were made in 1993. My 94 F250 is an IDI turbo 7.3 - not a Powerstroke - but its manufacture date is 9/93. As far as I can tell, all of the 7.3 diesel trucks actually made in 1994 are Powerstrokes. But, many model year 94 diesels are not.

1994 is not a power stroke I have a "94 and it is a direct injected turbo diesel. The powerstroke as in 95. the 94 is still a good power house I pull 18000 lb and works well

All the direct-injected 7.3s are Powerstrokes. The non-Powerstrokes sold in 94 are indirect injected. Both versions were sold under the 94 model year.

Well in 1994 you had the indirect injected diesel which was a turbo diesel the first part of the year. the second part of the year you had the turbo direct injected diesel which is the power stroke. That year Ford put turbo diesel on the fender to cover both engines. If you can see the injectors, pump and lines externally you have an indirect injected engine. If the injectors are under the valve cover and no injector lines and wires running through the valve cover gasket you got the early power stroke.

powerstrokes didn't come out until late 94 or early 95. I have a dump truck that has the regular 7.3L diesel in it, and it's a '94. If you ask me, it is very underpowered. (that's why they made the 7.3l powerstrokes later!!!!)

According to some nice guys on here who helped me with my engine, they said that these engines are basically "similar" to a bored out and strengthened earlier 6.5L diesel.

So, yours is not a powerstroke if it says "international 7.3L diesel" on the right valve cover.

I didn't think any 94's were power strokes. I bought one in 96 and was told that the power stoke came out in 95. I don't know!
