Hi Gang;
About 20 years ago archiologists discovered this 2000 year old Iron Age village/fort about 10 miles from here. With the help of Lottery & European Government funding, the National Parks have developed the site and re-created the village. These are two of the buildings which were living accomodation, wood & mud walls with thatched reeds for the roof.
Today its a tourist attraction and school kids can visit to see how our ancestors lived. More photos to follow.

just watched a show on the history channel about Boudica the iceni queen and her fight against the Romans. Also heard a few years ago some guy with his new metal detector found a stash of Roman coins which had to date to before 410ad, isn't that about the time the Romans were recalled to defend Rome?
