I just purchased a 601 series Ford tractor. It shows to be a 631 and the serial number is 105075. What info can be determined from the serial number. It is a 4 speed tractor. Also it has been painted a solid blue color. What is the actual colors it is to be painted. Would it be a workmaster? Can anyone show me a picture of how it should have looked when new. Thanks,

The 631 and 621 were stripped down versions of the 641. It is in the workmaster class. Yours was built in Dec of 1959.

The 631 did come stock with a 134 cu. in. gasoline; LP gas; or 144 cu. in. diesel engine; 4 speed trans; hyd system and 3 point hookup but that is about it.

No PTO; proofmeter; temp gauge; drawbar; lights; tools or tool box. All of these items were options so your tractor could have none or all of these items.

It should look like this..... . (Thanks to Craig from NY for the use of his picture)

Well if its a 631 it shouldn't have a PTO. As far as the serail number look on the left of this page and find serial numbers and you can find out the year of it

Well by what my book says when it was new it didn't have one. Thats what makes it a 631 instead of a 641. Just means some where down the line some one added the PTO to it

My grandpa has a 631 with a PTO. He got it from the highway department. I think there were several cases in which a public service would purchase the 631 with the optional PTO to save some money. The only difference I can tell is grandpa's has no proofmeter. Otherwise, your right old, the 631 did not come standard with a PTO.
