Picked up a little International Harvester British/Indian B-275 today. Farmer parked it in the back of his barn over 10 years ago because a back rim rusted apart. Said he bought it new around 1963. It has a dealer-installed front-end trip loader - bought in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. To my surprise, put a battery in it, didn't even change the fuel, and it started right up. Pretty ratty looking, but runs surprisingly well. Paid the guy $900 for it. Couldn't pass up a diesel tractor with three-point hitch, live hydaulics and PTO - with a loader - for that price. I tried to buy it cheaper - but a few more people showed up wanting to buy it - so I had to move fast. This is the first IH B-275 I'm come across with a tach - and a CAV rotary injection pump. I have two other B-275s that have in-line pumps with air governors. Like an idiot - I let the front-loader harpoon my spare tire on my trailer - and then I had to drive 100 miles with no spare. But, all went okay. Now I have another winter project.

I used to do a little beginner stained glass. I would try some of the larger towns that might have a stained glass business. Those machines are too valuable to let go to scrap. Someone should be able to get some use out of them. The smaller lead channel is called "came" It comes in different sizes and shapes. I have also seen the bigger stuff, but never worked with it.

Regular lead came is easy to come buy and not to expensive.

Good luck,, Gene

 Re: Feline Tragedy in reply to Glenn FitzGerald, 01-16-2008 10:14:32
I have lost a few good ones. One a calico female that was the best mouser I ever saw! She was very small even though fully grown, but ate 12 mice in a row in less than 3 min. I never saw anything like it! She attacked the nest and had one pinned under each paw and swallowed them whole and would eat one from under the paw and smack down another. Poor thing turned into a butterball and could hardly walk! We think a hawk got her as we saw a hawk carrying something off in the distance and we never saw her again. Lost another last year. Black and white with a mustache. Was wild when he showed up, but soon tamed down and was a good buddy. He would sit on the wood pile and watch me work and when I took a break he came over to get rubbed. He also would sleep on my chest when I would take a snooze at 3 in the afternoon. That really puts me to sleep! He got ran over by a dumba$$ who was flying all over town in a beatup old ford pickup doing burnouts.word must have got out that I was madder than a hornet as the guy and his truck disappaered from town. We had another cat show up here two weeks after chuck got hit. call him tater as he like potatos, but also call him punkin for his color. He alwasy sleeps at my feet while I am on the couch and get this, he is housebroke! goes to the door and meows to go poop, good deal as I don"t even have a litterbox anymore! He also watches me work from the wood pile and comes over to get rubs. He is a good mouser and last fall he sat by the stove for two days. I kept wondering why, till he nailed what he knew was there. Got him to shake hands too! I hope you find a good one Glenn. If you get lucky maybe a good one will show up at your door!

 Re: Opinions on a gehl baler? in reply to Luke S, 01-17-2008 07:30:28
I've never owned a round baler, but I've hired round baling done with Gehl, Vermeer, NH, and JD balers. Gehl will get the job done, but has the poorest bales (loosest) of any I've had work for me.

In my area, about $70.00 will fix the tire problem. Neat tractor. Those concerned about old Diesel fuel read the original post again. If it is clean fuel, it will be fine.

Hey Buddy;
Over here that tractor would cost you over $2000 in that condition - you're lucky to get it that cheap! You've also got a FORD tractor - yippee at last someone over there appreciates quality
Cheers David
