So I was mowing the neighbor's field last night and the night before in trade for the building material I spoke about last week. I mowed for three hours tuesday night and three last night. I used just about 1 gallon of diesel each night. This is a David Brown 880e 3 cylinder. I was running around 1750 rpm with the pto in low for around 540 rpm. Seems like great fuel economy, I always knew it was easy on fuel, but that seems really low to me.

just don't release the tractor for export until the check or money wire clears and is in your account

West Central Wisconsin, Mississippi River Valley
about 20 miles north of Iowa, Minn. border
It's snowing pretty good, and about 15 degrees.
Expecting 6 to 10 inches and below zero tonight.
Predicted high of 5 Friday, low of -17 below on
friday night and daytime high of zero on Saturday.
Pretty soon we'll be complaining about Mosquitos.

Should have added that the unused end must be vented or it will not work.

Around 3/4 gal an hour is about all the better I've seen on small diesels mowing the lawn. If you can get that good someone better put that engine in a small pickup !!!!!

I rented a diesel tractor 3 or 4 years ago (it had the 1 liter diesel 3 cyl. in it) and in about 6-7 hours I used only 2 gallons of diesel. (not bad)

I have both a Long 445 and a David Brown 995. They are both extremely easy on fuel. They are fuel sipers.

Wow.. good fuel economy.

I burn 5g of diesel to mow 10ac... don't matter if it is my ford 5000 and 10' mower.. or my 7610s and 10' mower and 3 hours of work...or 15' mower and 7610s and 2 hours of work... all stil takes about 5g of diesel..

I filled it up before I started mowing tuesdasy night. Last night I hauled 1 gallon of fuel over with me and put it in the tank, which brought it up to full. I checked when I was done and it was at the same level as when I started, using about 1 gallon of fuel for three hours of mowing.

You need a standard hydraulic ram and you just vent the end that you are not using. You can purchase a vent to install in the unused fitting to keep dirt, etc. from entering the ram and scoring the cylinder. HTH

Just exactly how are you measuring the fuel? Are you using clock hours or tach hours?

My push lawn mower uses more than that.
