Hit the field at about daybreak and the nicest little summer shower came up before I even made it out there.

So, this will delay the day's work for a couple of hours, but should let me run all darned day today as we got about a quarter of an inch, I'm guessing.

Wonder if that's enough to help save that poor burning wheat crop? I could for sure hear a large, loud "sucking" sound from that dry, parched land. :>)

Did a little rain dance this weekend, didnt help, prayed, the Lord said not this time, what do I have to do, other are getting over saturated and up here a drought for the 3rd year. Well,

Like ol' Tim down in Oklahoma told me, "Drop 80 ares of hay and you'll get your rain". :>)

Hey Dave, I remember my dad killing a black snake and hanging him in a tree upside down, that was suppose to bring rain. The corn here is about knee high and starting to roll up. I understand some areas of Ga and Fl are extremely dry, ground just like powder and the farmers have just quit planting. I dunno, seems like it always does go from one extreme to the other.

Allan,
If you could possibly spare a little, Please, please send some of that rain down Florida way. Need some bad. Just returned from a trip to Minnesota where crops look great. Tried to steal some rain from there, but apparently the airline lost that part of my luggage. Take care

In this part of the country, rain is a very precious commodity and is looked upon as nothing short of money falling out of the sky.

When I was down on the irrigated land, I used to wonder why anyone even tried to farm dry land.

Now, I'm doing it; go figure. :>)
