I'll be glad to send yall some of the excess we have been getting here 60 miles north of Dallas. I want some of it back however when summer gets here and we need it. We are soaked beyond belief here right now. I've got hay down, hay to plant, hay to cut, bills to pay and I'm stopped right now. I need working weather real bad. I'll pray for yall for some rain and yall pray for us for some drying time.

last year we planted 10,000 trees and didn't get a drop of rain for three months afterwards. Lost them all. Just replanted a couple weeks ago. Rain would be nice this time around.

Kansas has it all. in reply to kelly campbell, 05-27-2007 08:02:08
I think much of Kansas has all of your rain.

We have now had 43% of our annual rainfall THIS MONTH alone. Over 13 inches to be a bit more precise.

Come and get some.

Just got our first rain in 2-3 weeks this afternoon . We got a little over a in. here in s.e. IN. everything was drying up bad . This is the first May that we could get much hay up for all the rain in the last several yrs., now everybody is ahead of the game but only have half a crop from the April freezes and then no rain . Seems things are a little greener in just a few hrs.

It's pretty dry here in Western NC too. Some rain would really really be nice. Every thing is drying up and turning brown. TractorMike

Here, the normal is about 4 inches for May. We have had 0.54 inches. It is terribly dry in this part of central NC.

we can smell smoke out of georgia over 250 miles away. second time in a month it has drifted up this way. hazy here. yeah we are dry too what people don't realize is it's been 90 degrees here for weeks, that is what withers everything. if it were 60 or 70 everything would be alright. oh well.

Folks up here in northern ND though we needed rain. Well, in my area we got around six inches in the last 10 days, followed by THIS:

Third Party Image

The snow was gone in a day, and it's supposed to hit 60 today.

(Thanks, Jay, for the use of the photo!)

I'm also about 60 miles west of Lex., KY, in spencer Co. It hasn't rained since I planted corn. I started to cut hay early, before derby, hoping to get 2 cuttings in the spring. I'm done now and looks like no 2nd cutting.

Dang we need some rain.....

Howdy neighbor! I'm on the Spencer/Bullitt County line, just outside Mt Washington. Been here a long time (60 years) and don't ever remember it being this dry in May.

I'm about 60 miles west of you. Dryer'n it's ever been here this time of the year. I did everything I can do to make it rain. I cut every bit of hay I had left standing yesterday. If that don't make it rain, nothing will.

I am 40 miles east of Lexington and dry here as well. Corn was shrived up some yasterday. Hay is ripening faster than we can cut it and on the thin side in places. Hopeing for some rain as I would like to set tobacco next week. Lots of folks here are winding up tobacco, but I am a slow starter. Don't like to go to the barn until first of September. As a old friend of mine says it will rain, it alway's has. Maybe not when we need it though.

Kelly, been extremley dry here in middle Ga., what compounds the problem even more is we are getting the smoke ( 150 away ) from the fires in the Okefenokee swamp.
