I'm looking real hard at a JD 4320 tractor. Its got 6600 hrs. on it. Clean looking outfit. Runs well. Doesnt smoke. no visible leaks. Do you guys have any pointers or experience good or bad with this model? Thanks.

A 4020 is 2nd rate compared to a 4320.

I got a 4020...with about the same hours.Good tractor..But checkout the rearend. make sure there is no noise in it when going down the road in the top gears, and no funny noise in the brakes. Also checkout the pto .Make sure it sounds good too.I got a clunk in minenow...My mechanic says it a easy fix....But lots of hours to get to it and put it back together...I'm getting ready to spend several thousand on the very same things I mentioned above..idontno

I just bought one with 6800 hours. It does seem to be a bit cold-blooded. The previous owner used it daily for manure hauling and plugged in the engine block heater when temps were cooler. I've heard some mechanics say that the 4320 is one of Deere's best tractors ever made.

I have two 4320's, one with a factory cab and one with a factory roll guard and canopy. Very good tractors.

The 4320 is my son's favorite tractor. He purchased one last spring and loves it. It has the factory JD cab on it with roll guard. I have seen it called the "Super 4020" (Green Magazine artile) but it is not just a 4020 with a turbo. Everything is beefed up. The only negative I have every heard is that some of them can be hard to start at cool temperatures. My son's is that way, when it get's cool out it needs a shot of ether (spelling?). Someday we will go through the engine and pump, I expect that will take care of that. If everything checks out to your satisfaction I would not be afraid of it. Paul in WI.

I have a 4320 also and ditto what Paul says. Fantasic tractor with lots of power. A bit cold blooded. A little squirt of ether and it starts right up in all but the coldest temp.
