That is a fine looking baby. I have 3 with black stripes all adopted Mustangs, they are the smartest horses I have ever been around.

Talk about smart horses my little guy 10 hands can open all the doors and gate on the place that are not tied down. He will watch you just once and when you turn around he has it open an running though it.

I have had several that would do that. I had a sorrel mare that I kept up when close to foaling and every mornimg she would open the stall door and go over the hill kicking and snorting like you would never see her again. In 2 or 3 hours she would come back and put herself up. I never could get her to close the stall door back though.

Familiar stories! The last foal my father's horse farming days had was a spoiled rotten Belgian filly named Judy. She could open every gate on the farm, but I never saw her close any of them. In later years she became half of a darn good team of chore horses that I enjoyed. I still farm the same ground (and some more), but I'll bet you'll never guess what my wife's name is? Don't blame me I didn't pick my wife's or that horses' name. Might have influenced who I picked for a wife though.

And here I thought I was the only one who married a gal with the same name as a family horse....

Growing up I learned to ride on a quarter horse mare of my dads that my Aunt nicknamed "Sabrina" (She was registered as "Leo's flying Gal").

When we were dating, the wife never would believe me that was the horses name until the rest of the family chimed in.
