Don't want to ruffle any feathers with this topic, but I am wondering if anyone is up on cattle prices. I have 10 cows, ages 3-9, that are late in calfing this year. I like all my calves by May 1st, but I had a bad bull with these cows to start with last year, and now they will be June and July calfers. I am thinking of selling them, but don't really know what to ask. There are 2 herefords, 6 Red Angus Cross, and 2 blacks. All are in good shape. 1000-1200lb cows. One will go 1400lbs. This is in Central MN. Thanks for any opinions.

Hey, I or my cousen may be interested, depending on what you are asking and what the disposition of the cows is. By any chqance do you have a pic of the bull? I am south of south west of Foley. Send me an email. I have been looking for a couple cows for the place and my cousen may want to ad to his sim/angus herd.

M Nut,

Middle Tennessee is a long ways away from Central Minnesota, so this probably isn't accurate for your location. However, in Middle Tennessee, depending on the cows' ages, their condition, and the bull's conformation, bred cows that are not registered stock sell for around $900.00 to $1,100.00 dollars. This is for a person-to-person sale on the farm.

At the sale barn, open cows bring about $.70 - $.80 per pound. Bred cows are sold by the head, not by the pound.

Good luck with your cows.
