Just finsihed planting today after a few road blocks. Rain Sunday and a busted marker on my way in on Saturday night. Didn't rain too much though and things worked out.

A buddy from west TN reported seed corn getting scarce due to replanting. One outfit had 1200 acres to redo but don't know how much they farmed. This is from the cold snap back a ways.

Got my all my corn done Sunday at mid night was raining around 5:00p.m in the evening but kept on planting. Some people around here got their beans in and others don’t. I don"t have them in yet. Still a little early for me. May be next week I will plant them. The alfalfa here is looking good. The one field is about 1 foot high. I think by the end of May I will start doing hay.

Doesn't make a hill of difference to us, it's all going in the silo anyway. If the price of corn goes up and hay goes down however, then we'll be happy because we buy hay every year.

I didnt plant the whole sweetcorn feild. I am not gonna plant that expensive seed with the moisture we are lacking here. Cant bear to see another crop dry up like last year. Planted enough for us in the wetter spot. Even my black peat is making dust. No rain in forecast for a week, really sucks, but thats life. Good luck on everyones elses crops.

Good Deal.

Now come finish mine.

Ran into a wet field so I switched to beans. Need to go back and finish that corn. But another 1 1/2 days of beans and I can switch the planter back and leave it for corn for next year.

congrats!

Most every one is done wiht corn around here. Many have already got a good start on beans. I hope to get started setting tobacco today when I get off work. Just need a few more tweeks on the sprayer and pray the setter runs well. Maybe I can beat the storm they say is coming.

Corn is just getting in motion around here not too long ago. Just had our last cold snap on Saturday night, I guess it got down to the upper 30's. I don't think anyone is even thinking about beans yet, but we've never done them so I don't know a thing about planting them.

No beans on this farm. Some guys started planting corn maybe 1 1/2 weeks ago, but we're still well ahead of the local curve.

I guess the next major thing is hay, but that's a good 3 weeks out. I guess I'll have to start fixing something.

Lets see,... where o where will I ever find anything to fix around here???

Yeah, me too.

Thinking about putting in new bearings on the crimper rollers, just because.

Now, is that sick or what? :>)

That's fer sure. :>)

I just don't like to break down. My old mower was scrapped to the weeds years ago and I brought 'er back from the dead and put it to work.

I really like it, but it is really old too.

Neighbor is trying to sell me his Hesston 16' diesel, air conditioned outfit. Maybe that would be easier than changing out these silly bearings? :>)

I understand not like be'n down. Only good part I can see chang'n out bearings for the fun of it would be they may not be as hard to get off! Seems like I am down alot. My baler always slings a belt when the rain clouds are roll'n up.

I wouldn't even know how to operate the hitch pin on a belt baler. Gettin' old isn't easy, ya know. :>)
