A couple years back, a family showed Scottish Highland cattle at our 4-H fair. Were compact with long horns, long rusty hair. Very gentle. Owners invited us to wander into pens with 'em. I'm no stranger with cattle, but I tend to be careful with strange animals. These were real sweethearts. Owners told us that these were the only beef served to the queen! Any around your parts?

okay okay. we have 10 head of highland cattle. i'm in northwest il. Wi has largest number of highlands in US. send me an email i can send you contacts if you are interested. they are good animals to work real quiet and clam. just don't mess with their calves as they get real aggressive. i know from first hand experience. We have a bull running with cows most of the time i have to go look for him as he is very quite.

Live in Southern Vermont and have a few farms that have some cattle as you describe.

Took a ride throught New Hamshire last summer, near Alstead, farm had about 50 in a pasture.Certainly are a unique looking breed.

HI Ray;
No Highland cattle in this immediate area, again not a common breed these days. tend to be raised as "pets" by rich people with a few acres.
They look so cool.
Cheers David
