Got 50 acres to field cultivate and 95 acres of corn to plant.

If I get the heck out of the house and stick with it I may get done with corn today.

I suppose every one else is done planting?

Gary

60 acres of corn and 60 of beans yet to do out of 400 acres here in N. IN. Could use a rain as I'm dead trired after 7 really full days! Lost an engine in a tractor this year, put new shovels on chisel and soil finisher. Had to buy a new motor for the manifold shutoff on the sprayer. Had to fix a wire on the planter monitor, and weld the marker back on. Had to fix about 5 chains for both the bean and corn planters. fixed a broken spring and put 4 new big bolts on the soil finisher. It's been a rough spring. Worst thing is dad and grandpa broke all that stuff. I havent hurt a thing yet! Knock on wood!

Dad has about 130 acres out of 1900 total to go. He would have been done yesterday, but the air cart broke down. The device that runs the meter roller conked out - the one way ratchet bearing gave up the ghost.

He should be up and running by noon today and will finish tomorrow if all goes well and the weather holds. He says the wheat I planted (800 acres) the week of April 21st is all up and looks nice.

It will be at least tomorrow before we get back in the field after the 3" rain we got last Sunday. Around here I'd say corn is around 40% planted with alot of guy's not even started yet. We've got 500 acres of corn and 400 of beans left so three really good days or four easy days should get us finished.

Morning Gary,

It's not all planted in Western IA.maybe 60%. We got pounded hard last weekend 4-7 inches. Worst part is corn that was in, washed bad as the ground was freshly worked.

Have a good day, Rick

Most of the corn is rowed in south central Mn. My beans are just about ready to poke through. Beans are still being planted around here. We have heavy black soil, but didn't get dumped on with rain like down your way. Was down to Bancroft, Ia. to pick up a sprayer on Wed. and lots of guys in the fields down that way.

My beans have not been planted yet here in KY. Most of the neighbors have corn standing a few inches now.

We finished corn Monday 1300 acres total (northern Illinois), now we have 1200 acres of beans to plant.. Rolling along nicely, new planter is working good.
