I have a John Deere 329 engine with a Roosa Master injection pump, problem is I cant get fuel to the injectors, switch is working in the pump, fuel does come out the return line, Tried another injection pump, this pump I cant get fuel out the return or line"s, this pump was rebuilt but both pumps sat for about 5+ years and we know the first pump did work great only had 1400 hours on it,

Usually stuck metering valve - photos in reply to Mike S 806/H, 05-10-2007 16:53:11
When in storage, the first thing to dry out in those DB or JDB pumps is the metering valve. The metering valve is what shuts the fuel off. It is pushed shut - when you turn the key off - by springs. When you turn the tractor on - an electro-magnet overrides the springs. So - since you hear the clicking - all it means is the electromagnet is working - but the metering valve is likely stuck closed. There is NO mechanical connection between the two.

Large pump or the little fist sized model CB pump? When you say you can get fuel to come out the return line, do you mean by pumping the lift pump or by cranking the engine over.
If the large pump, pull the timing cover off and turn the engine over to see if the goverenor weight retainer is moving(you should see the timing mark come around.).If you see no movement, you probably have twisted off a pump shaft. If the pump didn't have injector oil or a very high grade of diesel fuel in it and sat for that long, there is a very good chance the rotor locked up.I hope I am wrong.bob

Mike, My guess is that the pumping pistons are

stuck with gum from the fuel from sitting .
