What started out to be a easy repair, turned into a all day task. I took the master cylinder off my 1980 F 350 tractor hauler. I went to four stores, and the fifth store had one. About 50 miles so far. put it on, and found out the tube connections were metric. About ruined my break hose fittings finding that out. took it back and finally found one in another town. about another 50 miles. Finally got my breakes in working order, after wasting almost a whole day. Will get back to mowing tomorrow. Stan

Yep know how that goes. I have a 1965 ford 1 ton that the brakes don't work on and the king pins are bad on. I'd love to fix it but at over $100 each for the king pins and then another $200-300 for a master cylinder I think I'll just use it on the farm and not worry about brakes and king pin. Bad thing is it has less the 81,000 miles on it and thats true mileage

The first Ford truck I owned, I remember a friend of my father, warning me to grease those kingpins, as he said they tend to freeze up. He ran a service station for many years, so I figured it best to keep em greased, but always wondered why they were so easily frozen up.

'61-'66 Fords are one of my favorites, I'm currently running a 64 F-600, about 82,000 miles, and I've noticed that there seems to be a fair amount of parts available, I've seen some e-bay stores that appear to have quite a bit of N.O.S. parts for the older fords. Keep an eye out maybe you will find those parts out there somewhere. I've always wondered if there were a way to free those up once stuck, sounds like it could be a useful truck, very handy thing to have, made some decent money with mine already.

It is handy to have around. It also has a factory dump bed on it so that helps make it handy. I've hauled a good number of tons of gravel with it over the years
