this calf showed up a couple days ago at my painters house, took up residence behind an old barn. checked high and low for an owner, covered about a 10 mile radius of all the cattle farms. no one knew where it came from, its a young bull, still has its wedding tackle in place, short horns, real skinny. looks like its been out for quit some time. could be a jersey/gurnsey mix? we found a farmer nearby that will go and get it and give him a home. third party imagethird party imagethird party image

Around here most people drop off only unwanted dogs and cats in the country side.

I thik it looks like a Red Holstein. We've got quite a few red ones on our farm. Never seen a whole lot of Jerseys though. This is Holstein Country up here.

Thats why it's hard to get a good price on a red holstein bullcalf at market, the buyer isn't 100% sure what it is so they always sell low. Wasn't the market kinda low not too long ago? Coulda been one a farmer "accidentally" lost just so he didn't have to pay for the feed to keep it.

It would look to be a Gernsey
