Corn planting is on hold today. Raining here again.

Got over half of it in the last 4 days.

Sounds like rain till Monday.

Hows the planting progress in your area?

Gary

Rain would be a better excuse than the one that I have. I still don't have my oats in! Ground's been too wet,so I've been working some high corn ground, finally got on the oat ground and plowed about two thirds today and had a seal go out on the shaft that the 3 point arms hook to on the 2-135. Hope the dealer has one in the morning, talking rain Monday nite. Took some cattle to Lake Odessa Michigan Thursday to go on the rail,a little corn in south of I 96,maybe 2%. Not any other ground even stirred,a lot of water standing.

Over here in NE corner of wisconsin I haven't seen a snigle corn planter in the feild. As for drill,s ours and another one about 2 weeks ago are all i saw. I did see a few tractors outr woring the land, but as far as planted, we're about the only ones in the nieghborhood with anything in the ground. Don't know why either, ground's been fairly workable for a couple weeks now, although it did rain pretty good on Monday night.

I'm taking a road trip tomorrow down to Cambridge, just above Milwaukee. I expect to see lots of tractors in the field down that way. We're gonna wait another week before we get too exited about getting the corn in. Must be what everyone else is doing too. May swith the 1855 over to 540 PTO this weekend and use it to haul some manure. typically a good job for our 285, but it has a fresh engine and that's just too much idleing to break it in right. Gonna pull our 18' spring tooth with the 285 for a while and rack up a few hours.

Going to rain Friday night into Saturday morning they say but could change. Got to finish putting in oats yet and then if there is time get the corn planter out and plant corn.

I finished my corn yesterday. The corns about 85% in the ground around here in SE MN with a few starting beans. Its misting today but we need a good rain badly. It was so dusty yesterday I couldn't see the planter at times. Oats is all up and growing good. The cows are getting pretty anxious to get out on the grass, but the grass just is not growing to dry.

Like about 12 acres, out of less than 150. Old tractor had a problem or I would have finished the other night. Now it has rained here for two days, weather man say's inch and a half by tomorrow.

Sounds like Iowa is way worse off than we are but seems hard to imagine. This year I have been in the field with a tractor 6 days and that is it. There have been three or four marginal days other guys have run. None the less good progress has been made in the limited time available. People who had the NH3 on and were ready to run back on april 21-24 had decent conditions and that corn is up and looking good. Since then I have planted one day and the rain ran down the cab windows in the afternoon for awhile and it was hard to find fields dry enough to start with. I need two good days to finish up corn. I think that is the exception and not the rule. There would seem to be a small group who have alot done but a even bigger group that has yet to start with the remainder somewhere in the middle. I would guess in this ares planting is around 25%. If rain makes grain we will have a great year. It is raining again right now. bill

Made a road trip to Toledo last night to drop the 4-wheeler off to get worked on, as you head that direction, they might be pushing 50% corn planted. Saw 6-8 fields up that you could row at 65 mph pretty easy, even see a hint of green looking across the rows.

uss repair? If so be careful they are plenty overpriced and dont necessarily get it fixed right. Lost lots of money down there. Cant be beat for buying new but their service work seems sub-par.

Morning Gary,

I'd say 50-60% of the corn is in hear in western IA. Almost eveyone going through or around some wet spots.

I see early planted corn is up. Your oats should be liking this weather.

Rick

No rain yet up here just north of Waterloo as of 7 O'clock. 80% planted on corn as of last night. I'd guess that's about where most guys are at up here. Have heard of some beans put in, also.

Started raining here at 5:00 this morning. Its headed your way on the radar.

Corn is not 50% here yet. No beans in.

We've run here only 3 or 4 days in the past 2 weeks plus.

We missed out on the heavy rain of a week ago here in south central Mn., but got 2/10 on last Monday. Most guys are done with the corn around here and have started beans, but it sounds wet for awhile from here on out till the first of next week.

We got a nice little shower last night here too. Just gives me time enough to get the duals on the tractor and "think" about going to the field. :>)

Hey! Did ya get that pump stuffed in the 1086 yet? Sent ya an email, but it bounced.

Don't know what to do?

Anything above an idle and it works fine.

At an idle I can't turn the wheel at all when the oil is hot.

Can't have the tractor down now.

May see if my mechanic can check it today.

Need it to spray with.Don't need to put the sprayer on that open station. I hate spray drift in my teeth. It tastes BAD. (:~{)

Dunno Pard,

Just don't think "valves", regulators, etc. are gonna go bad and then magically fix themselves depending on engine rpm. It's gotta be a pump or a massive leak somewhere, don't ya think?

In the meantime, keep 'er wrapped up until there's a break in the action?

Allan does the 1086 have 2 pumps?

Can't remember? But I thought they do.

Did my email get to you?

I knew I sent that 1066 down there for a good reason. You'll get used to the taste of that spray. :>)

Mechanic says-----

Oring in the MVC valve or a gasket in the pump.

If he has the parts its going in this morning 3 to 4 hour job.
