My IH 240 has a two point hitch with a hydraulic piston controlled by a lever on the right side of the seat. A couple of weeks ago one of the metal lines that runs from the hydra touch valve under the gas tank to the mounting block under the seat started leaking, and I ended up cutting the metal line, and using a compression fitting. I bypassed the mounting block, and ran a hydraulic hose to the sylinder. Now the cylinder will raise the drawbar, but the cylinder won"t lower the drawbar. If I disconnect the lines, the sylinder will retract. Any suggestions would be welcome.

You have to hook it back to that block. That is on there for a reason it is the flow control valve.
