The correct answer is yes you do. You will use it in your new dryland experience. :-) Great for killing the weeds in your summer fallow, without removing the residue. Now, question is where to get one? Drop me an email. :-) Got one for sale, you will like the price, sized about right for your 1066.

Chad, I went through that with him a year or two ago. He is a died in the wool plow man. Hates trash. I got to admit tho that his farm is adapted to that kind of farming.

FWIW: 42 footer with 7 new blades brough some thing like 3500 last month at sale. Beautifull Steiger with 8 like new 38 inch radial duals brought 20500.

Yep some of us tried to convince him but don't know about that guy lol. Yeah for dryland he needs blade plow or something with 18 or 22" sweeps with pickers on back to conserve moisture and trash but Allan likes stirring up that Nebraska dust like old irrigated guys do lol. Problem here was with those rod weeders like he wants is most times they left the ground too smooth and a hard rain crust it and then it blows or if too wet and rain that night weeds pop back up so blades or sweeps work better for us and once you get use to that trash it's really nice too. Much better than a old oneway for sure.

Huh, won't let me post a link...

Blade machine has 5,6, or 7 foot v-blades that run under the surface, cutting the roots. High trash clearance, almost no soil disturbance.
