Can anyone tell me the propper adjustment for the shebler carb on my international 2444. I purchased it not running and had to tear the carb apart to clean it. Now it sputters but will not run. Please help, this is my first tractor and I am dying to get it to run.
Thanks in advance
Kyle

Sounds like the float is bad or the needle vale isn't shutting off the fuel all the way. Either that or the electric pump may be building up too much pressure for the needle & float to control. Usally an eletric pump will pump fuel until the carb bowl is full and the needle valve closes. Then the eletric pump builds up to 3-5psi or so and shuts off. Properly done, the pump can be left on with the engine not running without flooding. Different pumps have different pressure ratings, yours may be too high or your needle valve and float are not right. Just a thought, hope it helps.

Set both screws at 1.5 to 2 turns then start engine and adjust for best performance.
sounds like you may have another problem see if there is fuel in the carb bowl. Also check fuel line from tank to carb for blockage.
You may need to remove carb and blow out all of the jets.

Thanks for the quick response,
I had already removed the carb and cleaned it out, also blew out the line with a compressor. I think your onto something with the fuel supply though. The previous owner stated that the carb was flooding so he put the fuel pump on a switch. I don"t understand that, because I thought that the fuel flow(electronic pump) was automatically regulated somehow. He said that he would turn the pump on for a few seconds, then turn it off, start the engine, then turn the pump back on and it would be fine for the duration of use. Any ideas? Thanks a million

Check your fuel pressure it should not be over 15 lb.

15 lb? I think 1.5 would be more appropriate if you are talking about per square inch. 15 would raise gas nearly 40 feet!

I have not had to go into my carb yet, but it sounds like the float valve is not sealing off. Bad float valve , float or float adjustment ?
Does it have the electric solenoid shutoof valve, those can be bad or stick in the mostly closed position.
