I get a lot of questions about the occassional tractor ads that I post, but they just seem to be a waste of time anymore. I recently posted a couple of Farmall H's for $700 each and the response was good. Yes, I can understand some questions, but the requests for different angle pictures, etc is just nuts. Invariably the ones that want everything never buy any way. I offered a good IH 300 head and manifold to a guy for $300 and he thought it was too much? I would like to buy a couple for that price. Oh well, just venting..... ...

I sent out pictures to over 30 people on a tractor I tried to sell and only 1 came to look at it. He bought but i still have people I sent pictures months ago wanting to come see it.

Most photo requests are a waste of time.If a person isn't interested enough to call most likely they aren't going to buy

I bought 4 tractors from "PHOTO ADS" and did not talk to the seller until he delivered the tractor.

All inquiries are good inquiries. I think it is reasonable for a prospective buyer to ask to see all 4 sides of the tractor and to see a higher resolution picture than you can post on the board. They just want to know that what is shown on the board is not just the tractors good side.

For the seller it is not to hard to do that either. Whenever I have sold something on this board, I take a digital picture of many views of the tractor. When I get a request for more pictures I can have them sent out in a few mouse clicks.

I not listed anything here in awhile, but when I did, this site proved to be excellent. Everything I listed sold quickly and for at least as good a price as I could have got at an auction.

I thot all used/rebuilt parts were wall hangers. Ive got a lot of wall hangers. People know that I have the parts and will not come down on my set price. They come, they look, they make their offer, but it never meets my price. Don't think I'm going to have to repair my drive way any time in the near future.

I think some people are just making a scrap book out of the pictures.

I'm not in the buying and reselling business but I know about where you're coming from. Recently tried to sell my old car, spent about $120 on advertising, people would look at the car and say we'll call you tomorrow, joke. I like buying old green equipment and every time I find something it's always 2000 miles away,so I just keep waiting.

Some of the folks really don't have a clue as to what good useable or new parts are actually worth. I have the same problem trying to sell rebuilt carburetors. I pay $50 or more for a rebuildable core, pay $30 or more for a complete rebuild kit, another $20 or so for a new float, spend at least 4 hours cleaning the thing up, and then I have folks offer to buy it from me for $75. Don't think so. I'll make a wall ornament out of it before I will sell it at a loss.

I agree Rusty, I was offered a hundred dollars for a recored C radiator it cost 195 to recore it. If I was looking for one I would have to give 300 for one. I have lots of wall ornaments. Someday this stuff will be needed. A guy also offered me 100 for a head that had been through the machine shop it cost 175 dollars on it.
