I have a john deere 310 backhoe. it has a new motor in it. But when it gets hot the hydraulics stop working. They just slow down then stop. But when it is cold they work fine. what do I do.

There is 3 circuts that make the hyd. system work proper. The charge circut, the return circut & the high pres. circut When it gets hot and hyd. don't work check the trans. put it in high gear hold the brakes and at high idel let out on the clutch it should hill the eng. in about 4 sec. if it does i dought if the trans. pump is bad. Next check the charge pres. at the hyd. pump if you have pres.Ok but if there is not any pres. you need to find where it is loseing it.

there then check the high pres. circut at the pump. it should be about 2350 psi. if real low
cap off out let at the pump and recheck if pres. comes up then you have a high pres.leak in loader valve, steering valve or hoe valve but if your pres. is still low the pump is bad. Don

I would start by checking the transmission pump flow when hot. It feeds charge oil to the main hydraulic pump. When the trans. pumps get worn, it tends to get real bad when hot. There's not much sensing in trying to check out the main piston-pump in front until you make sure it's not starving for oil.
