Hi Gang;
You can see that the guy is doing some nice work in very hard & dry soil. His wife assists at the headlands guiding the horses around.
Cheers David

Hey David Do they always have the horses walk up on the land like that? When we plough with the horses one always walks in the furrow. Mike

David

Just want to thank you for posting the pics that you do. I really enjoyed the plowing match. It has peaked my interest in it. I went looking a #51 JD 1 bottom or #52 2x12 yesterday. I found one of each but nobody was home. I will go back again next weekend. We will have a plow day here in Sept. I believe it is. Keep posting the pics.

That's awesome! Wish I had that soil. Not a rock in site.
Here in north central Mass USA you cant poke a shovel in the ground without hitting a rock.
I bought a fordson backhoe just to plant tulips.

That brought back memories of being a tyke running along side father riding on a 2-bottom plow pulled by 3 horses. I can remember the ground shaking as those big hooves strained against the sod. Harness jingling, plow making "snicking" sounds and the wonderful smell of earth. And best of all, carrying on a conversation with father! Thanks!
