All Fiats of that type have the same problem.Manual acutally says to cut engine off when engaging the lever. If you have the separate
handle to control the PTO its not a problem as much you can control the PTO with the lever.

I just finished raking the whole dang yard today, I wished I could have done it with the pto.

I have an 841. I'd apprieciate if you could give me some tips about how to get the pto on that to rake. I have a hard enough time getting my teenage boys to rake. :)

By "rakes", do you mean grinds when it goes into gear?

Well I'd guess you're wrong. Can you ascertain that or are you raking?

I believe he means the PTO gears grind when he tries to engage. Either the clutch drags a little or he in just not waiting long enough for the gears to stop rotating. Can't get in a hurry to engage them. Try shifting the transmission into gear when you engage the control lever.

Tim, I think the best chance you got is to wait for the morning when it will be light! I think he means "grates"
