I learned from a high school class mate that his 4020 has 50,000 hour and just replaced the power shift clutch due to it's was facing was plugging up the filter. It has been a loader tractor it's entire life. He has the records to show the hours. Usually has a complete OH ever 10,000 hours. He has over 300 cattle on feed and others he has to take of. Also bales hay everyday as he says. He got the tractor in the mid 60's with 3,000 hours and the loader was on it at that time. Stated that the loader has been worn out more than 3 times.

He just went to the factory and watch his tractor built and drove it off the end of the line. Either a 7320 or 7330 not sure of the correct number. The 4020 was his main tractor for 8 years.

I would say its believable, neighbor has around 30,000 on his 3010 and it is strictly a loader tractor, and with milk cows to feed year around, two hours fo feeding each day is not out of line. His tach has been replaced a couple times, and overhauled three or four times, and rear end gone through a few times, a couple loaders, and it still does the feeding. The tractor probably has more hours than that when you consider tractors with manual tachs only record one hour per rated speed, so if its idling it does not record as fast as when it is at rated speed. Newer tractors are on the clock as soon as the key is on.

I believe it 2 hours in the winter feeding cattle. Plus 8 hours a day working ground. plus mowing hay and baling hay 10 hours a day plus working ground in the fall 8 hours. If it was your main work tractor. I went over 1200 acres of ground just to feed 300 head.

Allen he gets less sleep than you. Does seem like a lot of hours, but he is a mover 7 days a week no tavern time. Gary he is Van Buren county. Has a great white tail lease busness.

Its possible, but that would be 3.4 hours a day 365 days of the year, for 40 years. I don't think so.

Gary

You have to allow for that overhaul time too Gary.

Wonder why a person would have bought that big of a tractor back then for a loader and baler tractor?

Oh well. Jim

I would like to see pictures and scans of the records to prove this. I know of several tractors with 20,000 to 25,000 hours on them - the hour meters usually give out around 10k hours, at least on the ones I know of.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, I find it really interesting and amazing and would like to see the proof so I can share with my friends and have something to back it up. :o)

The hardest thing to believe is that the hour meter lasted that long ?
