Have an armidillo problem, diging holes in the lawn.. I managed to shoot one but it seems like the other(s) are smart enough not to be caught out during daylight.

wonder about setting a live trap but not sure what to bait it with?

The Agricultural Extension Agency told me they were after grubs in the lawn. I put down some granualar bug killer and watered it in. A few weeks later, no more holes in the yard. Nothing for them to eat, they move on down the street.

Bob, I trap them in my yard to keep down the digging. I use one of those Hav-a-Heart live traps from TSC. Don't need any bait. Use two 4x4 about 10 feet long to make a V shape ending in the trap. They eat/dig their way into the "funnel" made by the boards and go right into the trap. I have caught 7 of them this way. Everyone around here use this method. You can even use 2x4 if you use stakes to keep them with the 4 inch up. Tom

Dry cat food has -always- worked for me to get possum, raccoon, and armadillo into spring loaded traps..

Amry-dillos are mostly nocturnal. Also where theres one there usually more. They always have four offsping of the same gender.

I leave for work hours before daylight and always keep something loaded and handy for yard invaders as I come out the door. I gave up the .22 and went to the 12 ga. as the darn things had the annoying tendency to run under the house to die, and man nothing stinks like a dead diller. I leave 'em alone in the pasture, but if they're digging in the yard or burrowing under the house or barn they got to go!

I wish you people had kept them down there, we are now getting over run with them in south Missouri. We have just had them for a few years.

Also they are good eating. A set of tree pruning shears helps with cleaning them. DAMHIK.

They call it "Possum on a half shell". It takes two to eat it though, One to eat, one to watch for traffic.
