IS THERE ANY ONE WHO WOULD KNOW OF THE NAME AND/OR CONTACT OF AN INSURANCE COMPANY THAT WOULD SELL ME INSURANCE FOR A ANTIQUE FARM TRACTOR AND FARM TRUCK.

I HAVE LOOKED INTO SEVERAL CLASSIC INSURANCE COMPANIES BUT THEY DON'T INSURE MODIFIED CLASSIC FARM UNITS.

Joe, where in MN are you located. Like someone else mentioned, I too have mine covered as a rider on my home owners insurance. It's written by Auto-Owners through Kato Insurance in Mankato.

Depends on the value. Allied Ins covered my tractor under my home owners policy. It is officially a large lawn mower with an insured value of $3500. They said given the high price of subcompact tractors and high end lawn mowers it really isn't that big of deal to add a unit of that value. But it did need to be added as a specific line item, had I not told them about it my insured value would have been limited to a maximum of $1000(? or so) (what they consider the "average" value of a riding mower).

I've had "collectors" insurance on four vehicles for the past 10 years. The company name has changed every year - seems there's some sort of shuffle-game. Rules and rates also keep changing. But - my insurance is for antique/collector/special interest vehicles that get driven on the road. Some companies charge a higher fee for the first vehicle, and around $75 for each additional. Last year I paid $150 for vehicle #1 and paid $75 each for all the others. Others charge separate per vehicle. My mileage limit is 1000 miles per year per vehicle. That can be expanded by paying more money. Also, each car or truck must have dated photos from every angle and sent in every year. Coverage is liability, comp. and full collision. Technically, I am not allowed to use the vehicles for "non-collector" activities. When getting the insurance - after you send in the photos - you make an agreement on the value of each piece, and the premium is set accordingly.
I never cared about replacement value - I just want the legally require liability so I can drive on the road.

One company recently posted these rates:

$5000 replacement value is around $150 per year. $10,000 is $220 per year. $20,000 is $370 per year. $50,000 is $820 per year.

I have mine insured at State Farm Ins. They let me set the value. 1938 John Deere B valued at $5000.00 cost me $80.00 per year. Peavy

Thanks Peavy --- I asked State Farm who have my regular vehicles and they turned me down --- each State must be different for these Ins. Companies...

Try Hagerty. I have both my tractors and my military Jeep through them.
