worthington air compressor

have had a old worthington air compressor give to me.has gas engine starts and runs fine,but guy says the engine has about 40 pounds of oil pressure when first started the slowly drops to almost nothing when warm. what might be problem? bearings -oil pump.what make is the engine? any and all ideas appreciated

I had an old worthington blue brute 105 and it had a 6 cyl. continential F226 flat head alot of things used this engine.

oil in may be old, change oil and see what it dose. try stright 30w.my thoughts

Proably main bearings.If you got it for free, and don't use it alot, run it till it pukes and then address problem.Could last along time still.
