I bought a Farmall H from a neighbor a few weeks ago for $400. It had not been run in several years but was not stuck. I cleaned up the carburator, sediment bowl & fuel line, cleaned and reset the points, installed a new battery and this morning she fired right up!! :-) Runs great too!

Kirk thats great. I restored an H a few years back. There is a reason they sold about a half million of them. I did the same thing with a Massey Harris 444. Found it under a bunch of tree's in a potato farmers field. Changed the gas and filed the points and the engine purrs like a kitten.

i told a freind about john deere g that was going to be sold or junked. man that owned it had it overhauled but it never ran right after that it wasn't timed right. dan bought it i helped him drag it home on a sat
morning. i think dan paid $ 400 for it a yakamia 3 bottom plow came with it. about 5 sat dan called and said do you hear that? i said what is that? dan said i'm holding phone out kitchen window i got the g running. he took starter off got a bar in ring gear and worked enigne back and forth a few times and felt something give. he put fresh gas in tank put a battery on it and started it. dan was as happy as kid in candy store with all the candy free.

Put $20 worth of ignition parts in a 56 Cockshutt that had been setting for years and she fired right up and ran like new.
Ain't it great when a plan comes together.

Sounds like the W9 I bought a few years back from a neighbor. Had been sitting on the hill for about 20 years, but exhaust was covered so no rain got in. Soaked with PB Blaster for a couple days and she broke loose and fired right up. Unfortunately there was so much rust in the head and block that the head got hot spots and cracked... a few hundred later I have another good head on it and no more rust in the water jackets!

Enjoy that H!
