Hello, I am looking for a few 12 bottom JD 3700 plows. Closer to manitoba the better, but i can transport. i am looking for two in decent shape, We hooked two of them together last summer to make a 24 bottom and pull them with a D8K caterpillar crawler it works great, cover alot of ground in a day. But now we would like to make a second set. So if anyone knows of any let me know?

Food for thought. Since you are serious about plowing are you aware of record Case set in France with a 2o bottom plow an a quad track tractor? Over 700 acres in 24hrs with 1 driver an 1 tractor.Plowing was done one way as all or most all plowing is done in Europe eliminating dead furrows an most important wasted time traveling ends. Those type plows are avaible in Canada i am sure.1 being Kaverland-One Case used was a Benson i think.

24Bottom12000acres , do you have any pictures of the D-8 and the 24's in operation that you could post here? That would be great to see. Ran a lot of 8's but never anything like you got going. Now 2 D-8's and 48 bottoms, man what a sight that would be to see and would be a real plow day.
Thanks,Bob

i have no pictures of the rig in operation, but would like to get some pictures of it soon and when i do i will be sure to post them on here, maybe just some pictures of it sitting in the yard because we only plow in the fall here. The D8 works quite well in our soil, we are right in the bottom of the red river valley here in southern manitoba and it is clay/silty soil so it imposes very little wear if any on the under carriage since clay is a natural lubricant. I can plow just about 15 acres an hour with the 24 bottoms. We have recently discovered that plowing in this land increases productivity quite significantly. nobody within 100 miles of us plows at all, everyone got away from plowing in the 60's when the average farm went from 160 acres to around 10000 acres today. Nobody has the time to get the plows out for a few hundered acres. But I figure with 48 bottoms goin we could just about cover what needs to be covered around our farm in a good fall.
