Hydraulic Fluid Question

I have been using 10W engine oil in my Oliver 1650 as specified by the operator's manual. I would like to switch over to an equivalent weight universal hydraulic fluid, such as AW32. Is it OK to just drain the reservoir and fill with the different fluid, or do I need to drain loader cylinders, change filter, etc., to get as much of the 10W oil out of the system? Thanks for the help.

Just to be clear.. Aw32 is not a UTF fluid.. it is plain hyd oil. Not to be confused with universal trans draulic flids.

FWIW.. i think a UTF or aw32 would work fine in place of 10w motor oil in a hyd system.

read the containers some foam when mixed although i dont there would be enough left to worry about as far as the weight the only thing that might happen is it will spring a leak in rwality you could use water if you could hold it in and keep from freezing, boiling.

I've used O'reillys 303 hyd fluid for years in both my Oliver 77 and my S88 and never had any problems. I did use the 10 W oil at one time but switched to the 303 and didn't drain the system when I did so and I haven't had any problems
