Hi Gang;
When the cut turfs reach the top of the elevator, they are automatically rolled. An operator takes them and stacks them on a pallet which would be on the forks to the lower left of the platform.
There is also now on the market a harvester which cuts & rolls turfs 3 feet wide which are used for laying on big areas like football pitches.
Cheers David

I noticed the light. Wondering if the sod is harvested at night. Might have something to do with retaining the dew on the grass leaves.

The big rolls are getting popular here in Alberta. For do it yourself sod, you can get it in rolls or pieces. I prefer pieces cause the're lighter. At the sod farm it only takes about a minute or so to make a pallet of sod! The stacker on the back is pretty busy as a pallet weighs around 2200 lbs. depending on how wet the sod is. Some good machines come out of Canada such as Brouwer turf equipment. Dave
