A friend called me a little bit ago. He said he was haveing trouble with his truck. 200? GMC, well any how he said all his lights and gauges where going crazy and when he tried to start it nothing. Well I told him to check has battery cables so he said I will and hung up. Well he called back about 15 minutes later and said well you where right the cables where loose. Goes to show how something so simple can cause big problems. Just saying this because it might help some one else down the road some time

Friends crew brought his truck in the other day with the transmission not shifting right as well as several other seemingly nonrelated, non driveline related problems. he called several guys who routinely work on that type of truck and on their advice replaced a $30 speed senser in the rearend. That didn't fix the problem so he started looking on his own. Turns out there was a fuse that powered the speed senser, the dome light and several other things and you guessed it, it had blown. Man he was sick that he had spent $30 over a 10 cent fuse...

Okay I'll bite . What truck are we talking about? Dome lite fuse should be hot key off, any driveline fuses would have key on for current.

Probably does Old. Funny thing is I was just puttin a tach in an old economy truck and since I had to go further and further into the dash to wire it right I took off a cable so I wouldn't burn it up if I shorted something. Well sure enough there was corrosion on the post and connection. So I think about this. There was no indication earlier but it's a simple '80's truck. This stuff could mess up the computer ones from late '90's.
