After I was done milking cows I took a trip to the New Holland dealer. I decide since I was going that far I run with the trailer to the scrap yard. Got to the New Holland dealer the sales guy was out he asked what I was going to buy cause I had a empty trailer. I told him I was interested in a sickle mower. He said we got to two of them. We first went over to the brand new looking one model 451 nine foot looks very sharp 3 point hook up. I asked how much he said $2,100 and he would toss in a New Holland pull type model 456 7 foot and manuals for both. I usually like to have back up one so the 456 would be perfect. The 456 needs a little work done to it some new tires which is no problem. Since I was there I bought some new sickle blades and some guards cause it needs a few replaced and a belt. Well we load it on my trailer gave him a check and I was set to go. Got to go the Fleet Farm and get some tire tubs now and other stuff too. I think I got a good deal. What do you guys think?

I have run the AC 80R3 mower, the JD 350 mower and the NH 451 and the NH is the poorest one by far. The AC will out cut the JD or the NH and the New Holland is awkard to hook up and it will not work on some 3 pt hitches

Pretty good deal, much better than what you would have got from Northern!

The NH mowers are of a good design and should last quite a while. And now you have TWO instead of just one!

Sounds like a heck of a deal to me. We use the 451/456 head on our Rowse mowers and they run tons of acres between rebuilds. Good mowers.

You did better than me, $2500 for one used one. It was in very good condition though. I'm happy with it, and I think you will like your 9' also. I can really cover some ground with mine.

Doesn't sound bad. It wasn't a steal but not a rip off either, I think you should be able to sleep at night. I like the 451 I have.
