Delevered my 1st load of hay with the F250. All I can say is WOW!!!! What a difference from my F150. There is no compairing the 2. You can hardley tell the trailer is back there. I am impressed, She even accelerated going up a steep slope. The load I put on her today didnt even make that Power Stroke sweat.
Looks like I have the match I was looking for. Time to go 5th wheel shopping this summer. I think maybe a 20 footer to haul the 706 up to the land.
Sorry about tooting my horn on this truck, but I drug the bumper on my F150 for far tooo long. Here is one guy never going back to gas.

Kelly,

You haven't even begun to use that truck yet. Just wait it gets better!

I have a 1997 Powerstroke that I bought new and now has 240,000+ miles. Absolutely love my truck! I said I would never go back to gas, but the new trucks are too pricey and the emission systems on the diesel will cost you a fortune to repair at the 100,000 mile maintenance interval. Too bad that a good thing has been ruined. I am looking for a 2002 F450 with the 7.3 Powerstroke to upgrade to now.

good deal there. I still have a 97 350 with a 351 windsor gas. it's awful on them hills, EVEN with an empty 24' gooseneck.

Yea, I know what you mean, I switch to diesel back in '92. Haven't had a gas ever since.
My buddy just bought a used 10 banger F350 and he is already cussing it.

you might wanna consider a 24 or 25 foot trailer, they are not that much more but sometimes you need the extra length, i've had a 20 foot and now have a 25 and i like the 25 alot better, as far as a trailer goes, i would recommend a PJ, well built, and they pull really good

Thats possable, It took me 20 min to grow out of this 16 footer. Built it to haul some hay and my Farmall H. Paint was not even dry on it and I had my 400. I got the 400 to fit on it but its not a match. Way too heavy.
So I guess if I get a 20 footer I will need a 25 the next day. So maybe I better get the right one 1st try.

Hi Kelly,

I bought a 27+5 Legend and that's 40ft over all. It's ok for length other than being in town. I'm planning on building a 6ft sleeper/camper area on the first 6ft so it's be just right for two/three tractors.

Had I not wanted the sleeper on the front then a 20+5 would have been all I wanted. With the 3rd ramp folded up that gives a full 25ft x 8.5ft of flat deck space if needed.

Forget about building your own trailer as I bought the 27+5 new for $200 less than my estimated material cost, $6400. The 20+5 were in the $5200 range. I don't know how them boys can build them so cheap and give the quality of trailer they produce.

Isn't that turbo power neat at 2200rpm to 2400rpm? Just like installing a second engine. For 90% of my pulling I pull at 1800rpm which gives me great fuel mileage and will still maintain 60mph on the flatlands while pulling 24kGCW.
