Couldn't stand it; just had to know how this gizmo worked so took it out and harnessed it up.

Right or wrong, it is on there. Geeze, kind of an obnoxious sounding bugger, aren't they?

Now, if the hay would just grow so I could have something to bale up. :>(

If you really want to test it you could go unroll three or four bales and re bale them, then you would get the bugs out ahead of time, just a thought. Never run the 855 but been in front of a fleet of 851's since i could push a clutch pedal down. Keep them old chain balers maintained and they will bale anything all year long. take care.

You ain't just a wolfin'!

Ever notice that you never see any old belt balers still in the field?

The chainers don't have the turnover potential, so we phase 'em out and start building throw-aways. Same old story; it's a consumer society. :>)

I've listened to one of those things buzz a zillion times. It just keeps at it until the bale is tied.

That's what I figured from the looks of how it is plumbed (wired).

Kinda why I mounted it at an easy reach so I can flick that "off" button back and forth instead of having to listen to that racket.

Thanks,

Allan

Yea, I used to do that and once in a while I'd forget to turn it back on. :(

John Johnson just came up with a very pregnant idea in a post above.

I'm gonna wire that rascal up like the auto-wraps. In order to shut that noisey thing off, the bale has to be tied. This will help in more ways than one. :>)

My word Allen! What do you do for a living. You have unlimited time and money. With all that comfort on your equipment, who wouldnt want to farm. Are you putting a fridge and wet bar in the cab too? Tractor has more options than a loaded Cadillac Limo. Looks very cool though very professional. DTURKE

Hey Allen the next thing you will be adding for comfort is electric joy stick control for corn/haylage chopper so you do not have to turn around to control chopper shoot and let all the AC out the open window with rope thru it for flapper and crank for spout . But then again with throws long straight fields you have you probably never change the spout or the flapper any way.

North east puller.

No need for a joy stick- just a simple on/off/on 6 terminal toggle switch and a window motor from a early 90's S-10!!

Our Fox 3000 has a hyd. cylinder to turn the spout left to right, and it came with a frozen window motor to control the flapper. I tried like heck to identify the original but no body had any clues so I went to the junk yard and tore open a driver's side door from an S-10 and found one that works. The hardest part was the wireing. It's only got 2 wires that go the motor, but 4 fromt he motor to the switch. PLus the power source (off the key switch so it has to be on to work) and a ground going straight to the battery.

Works great!! Ad that, and a rope to drop the wagon and another pull rope to widen/narrow the tounge, and I hardly ever have to get off the tractor or twist around funny in the seat....

Looks like a tilt meter from a pin ball machine. Lets him know when he's on too much of a slope. :)

I've never used one of the gadgets before, but this last baler came with three of the silly things to mount on different tractors.

It is supposed to tell you when to stop and tie the bale so that a fella doesn't have to be continually looking back and watching that "full indicator" on the baler face.

You really have to watch it 'cause if you make the bale too big, it will shear a pin at the pickup to keep from harming the baler.

I guess this thing is just supposed to save your neck muscles is all. Buzzes at ya and the little red light comes on when the bale is finished. :>)

Gotchya,

Mine is a simple baler for a simple man. :>)

However, I've seen those "bale commands" that the auto tie New Hollands use. Sure don't ever want one of those things. Just fine until they go south and the hay needs baled.
