The bad weather missed us here in Matador, but we watched the tornado clouds as they traveled towards Quitaque and Turkey. We got about a quarter inch of rain sometime last night which adds up to about four and three quarters since this all started.Sure makes the dry land farmers happy..... .

Still here missed it this time. Storms built along dryline farther east this time moving that way. Hereford area NE of here & other east had some larger hail. Heard something about tornados around Silverton area and later out east of Amarillo by McClean turning over several trucks on I-40. Our south part of county had more damages in Farwell and Bovina areas last Friday night also east of Clovis NM. Lots of outbuildings tore up, roofs gone and pivot sprinklers turned over and probably some farm equipment damaged also.

We are bit further south but we had the hail and high winds here in Muleshoe. Twenty miles west of us did not get a thing, which is good they had their fair share last Friday in Clovis, NM. I believe when they say take cover this year I am headed under ground. I heard today that the Clovis tornado claimed one life, elderly lady died Tuesday as a result of injuries she recieved last Friday when the storm hit her house. Two more still in critial condition in a Lubbock hospital.

It was stormy with greenish clouds swirling around the Stratford area yesterday evening - but we could see the real storms building north and east of us...

There was very brief bout of golf-ball size hail over in Guymon and baseball sized just north of there a few miles. The tornado that killed a man and his wife was east of there about 50 miles near the gas plant.

A lady in the office was saying an extra sad twist to that story was the couple that was killed had a son that had just deployed to Iraq a few days ago...
