I took a cruise through the lot of the local consignment auction/equipment buyer the other day and I noticed a 404 narrow front. I've never seen a 404, let alone NF. It was a cute little guy, but was pretty rough. One back tire was blown. If I had any extra money or room for it, I'd ask about the price. Are these an uncommon tractor? I sure haven't seen another one. Any thoughts?

At a auction Saturday 2 people thought one was worth $5000 and it was worth more than $5000 to one of them. Some 404 had a daul range transmission and not to common. You may want to check that one closer.

I have one. Been in the family for like 35 years. All original. Thing is, every gear sucks in it, and it doesn't have live PTO. now why it doesn't have live PTO, i have no idea, a 340 or 240 farmall does. It's been a good tractor, but it has a host of electrical problems now.

i saw one on YT ads for 4000 bucks. sounds reasonable.

There are some around. They are a modern version of a Super C. I saw a chart the other day that told how many there were, but can't seem to find it right now. I don't think they are really to rare. Were sold mostly in the southeast to tobacco farmers. I will look for the numbers and post them if I find them again. I have a neighbor with one and he uses it to bale hay with a wagon behind the baler, it has factory 3 point hitch and rear remotes on it.
