Hey guys and gals, I have an 2002 GMC Sierra. It's a 2500HD and doesn't have the nice towing mirrors on it. I was wondering if anybody has replaced these with anything that worked better? I know that GMC put some on of there trucks around that year but I dont' know if the moutning holes would be the same or maybe that would bolt right on? Has anybody done anthing about this? I do not care to much for the add on piece's that you can buy for them. I don't like the looks of them. Thanks for any info and help.

Thanks Darin

LOL. Thanks guys for the input. I think I'll call the dealer then and see what the going price is these days. Thanks again.

Darin

My 2001 3500 apparently had the same mirrors as what you are describing. Pretty much worthless whenever you hook onto a trailer. I looked into the clip on style, looked into aftermarket towing mirrors that were supposed to fit, but looked like crap, and finally went to my GM dealer, ready to shell out some big bucks. Guess what, the genuine GM optional extendable tow mirrors were priced much lower than any of the aftermarket stuff. It took about two days for them to arrive, and took me about 10 minutes to install.

I don't mind telling you, but that was about 5 years ago, and I don't remember.

I passed an empty F350 Dually with it's mirrors fully extended coming the other way down the road yesterday.

That thing was wider than the lane.

I guess they had to run down to the corner store.

It sure made a statement.

Most "West Coast" style mirrors that are accessories from the factory have reinforced locations on the frame of the chassis, or door for mounting. What ever you purchase, make sure to use these mount locations for strength, and for clearance of the assembly with door open. Info may be in the directions for the dealer mirrors (parts counter recon) JimN
