North of Fairfield, Ia. Spees cried the retirement sale.. Get two chairs when you read the prices. All were as I was told show room condition. 4020 - 2000 hrs early one no cab $22100.
730 $9800. 4430 $24000. 4455 $57000.
As told to me. Just think if beans go to $15.00?

I don't know why we ever sell any of these things when they appreciate like that. I sold a 730 diesel electric start W/F,3pt dual remote, fenders, new rubber in 1979 for $2500. Bought a new 4040 Deere in 1981 for $22,900.

That was right in our neighborhood and I wouldn't say the stuff was in show room condition but other than the 230 and 730 it was extremely clean one owner stuff. Bidding on teh 4020 started at $10,000 and topped $20,000 within about ten seconds. Condition wise on a scale of 1-10 I don't think anything on the sale was less than an 8.

Just a few comments about the Fairfield Iowa auction. All tractors and equipment was in top condition. The sale was a retirement auction and was held on the farm and was NOT a consignment auction. A Farmall 230 brought $5400. Marv

The 4320 3300 hrs 21450.00,and the 4020 2650 hrs 17400.00. I could not believe my ears.He said there was about 3 dozen folks there just after the 3 tractors.Sold good for the family.

There was a 71 model 3020 sold on a sale last week near here. It had been in the family since new, low hours very clean. You need to sit down on this one as well as everybody was looking for the seond last bidder. Tractor went for $17,000.
