Fantastic Idea For A Parade

Every year in my little town called Franklin Grove, we have a Living History Antique Equipment Show, some of you might've heard of it. Well, there's also a parade through town one night. Besides the fire trucks and politicians, alot of exhibitors at the show drive their tractors in the parade. My mom had a really great idea earlier this evening. She thought it would be cool to organize a bunch of "works in progress" and have them parade together in a group. Could be old tractors, trucks, or cars part-way through the restoration. Could even be a push pull or drag if they aren't up and running yet. I think it'd be neat to show folks what old iron looks like before it's all dolled up. What do you guys think?

I go to several car shows in my area, and everybody's favorite is the "Unfinished Nationals". Bring your project, on a trailer if need be, and everyone seems to get a bigger kick out of those than the finished cars that are at every show.

I think it is a good idea and will help attract people to the hobby. Our club does about 4 parades a year and we pull a small trailer that has information about the club and an invitation to meetings with the day, time and place. Whenever I can join the parade, I bring a repaired but not restored tractor. My thought is that I want to make sure that if someone is interested in joining that they not be intimidated by the marvelous restorations done by other club members. I'd rather have him look at mine and think, "If they accept that guy..."

Just as long as they are "driveable" brakes etc. Think of a trailer if you are not sure. Other than that it sounds neat! jeffcat

Say, my aunt and uncle live down by Ottawa. I just looked it up and it's the 4th and 5th of August. I couldn't find a website anywhere, though.
