Does this seat have a cast aluminum (I think) crank on the front between your knees and a shock absorber on the rear? Does it have round stock for the back rest support? Post back if it does.

DING,DING,DING.....JACKPOT!!!! We took one of these seats off of a SUPER 77 Oliver, looks to be in decent shape, could be for sale but I'll have to check with brother since it belongs to him. If you think you may have some interest post back and I'll ask him.

OK, he's not attached to it and it was a good functional seat when we took it off to install an original type seat. cell # is 309-737-6891, keep trying as it's hard to hear around machinery.

I'm still scratching my head trying to remember who made them. Somebody said Monroe,I'm thinking Knoedler. Try emailing Sherry@oliverinformation.com. I think she mentioned them in an article one time in Oliver Heritage.

We had one of these seats on a tractor once and it said BUFFALO JOY RIDER on the decal.

Had one on a David Brown back in the 70's. Purchased at Central Tractor. Look at ebay # 260099819453. They came white in color with black seat and back rest with white trim. Could get mounts for most tractors or make your own. Not seen one for sale in years.

I just happen to be in the middle of a full restoration of one. It's off my 1956 CASE. I almost scrapped the rusty thing but felt sorry for it.

For parts, call or e-mail Don Livingston at manifold@smig.net.
Ph # 507-433-0073, mornings best.

He knows all about them. I believe they were made by Fleischer-
Schmidt Mfg. of Columbus, Neb. Now just Fleischer Mfg., they still make ag equipment.

Don has replacement torsion rubbers that adjust the seat tension and maybe other parts.

Here is a photo taken last week, partially disasembled. Hope this helps..... .

Your seat is Not a JOY RIDE. It's a Bostrom Body Guard seat similar to those used on Oliver tractors.

I only remember them being sold new by Tractor Supply back in the 60s. Don't know who made them or what ever happened to the company.

If your talking about a double wide seat for two people, they some times call them demonstrater seats. There is a guy in one of the magazines that advertises new repro ones. I don't recall his name right now but if I get a chance I'll look for you later. Somebody here might know who I'm referring too.

No it is a single wide seat but made more like the double wide seats I have seen--they have a steel frame with a paded seat and seat back color of the cover is black and white and it says joy rider on it--thanks Jerry
