Dear Forum,
Earlier today I was chastized for objecting to OT threads on this page. My objection was not to informative, useful questions and opinions on trucks, plumbing, electrical etc.

I love this forum and am saddened to see it cheapened by vulgar, ad hominem attacks more befitting a Klan meeting than a great group of people sharing their expertise on and enthusiasm for tractors, machinery, information and best of all fellowship. Sincerely, Thomas J. Donahy

Sorry Case Lady don't be offended but------ in reply to Tom43, 03-20-2007 19:35:56
Your coment has two meanings in the Rosie post?--- Please don't hold her against the rest of us women. Yea I'm sure with you on that one!!!!!

It did make me blush as a little though.

First of all she's pretty big to hold even with a good horse collar, and even with a new harness

Secondly, I kind of think most guys would say, we sure as heck don't want her held against us either.

Sorry --I have alot of inbreading in my jean pool and growed up in Red Neck Ia. Please never take any coment of mine to be hurtful or disrespectful in any shape size or form. I have never been that type--just a horses rear most of the time.

I guess as long as it is labled off topic it is perhaps easy to skip over for anyone.

I always think it would be nice to meet everyone on these fourms, but some have a way with words that make me a little uncomfortable at times. One just has to assume that they are indeed having a bad day. Kind of like if you don't like me I will beat on you untill you do. I would always prefer to make some one laugh as to anger them.

Now for the straight up on Rosie----All I can say is very discusting at best, even if she is man or woman. The sad part is she probably does have a few good intentions or ideas along the way. The TV chanel is getting many to watch so maybe they have a different trick to get us to watch other than a positive role model.

OT forum -for those who want to rant about politics, social(ist) issues, some religious concepts. As it is lightly moderated and has a 'restrict the kiddies and easily offended' warning you can post otherwise OFF TOPIC to other forums subjects. It keeps KL board civil also. Stop over and cuss out Rosie there. RN

Just a little constructive critism here. I have read both posts and to be honest I am more offended by this post than the Rosie post.

Rosie is a public figure who has decided to stand for things that may feel are very immoral. But in your defence of "Dignity and Integrity" you lable others Klan members?

My grandfather was a southern preacher who believed all men were created by God. He hated the Klan and their teachers of evolution.

Evolution???? Yep, it provided the racist a way to accept that blacks were human but less developed.

He told me one day homosexuality would become acceptable.

That would lead to gay marriage which would be followed by people living on the Down Low. Oprah did a show about living on the DL recently. The DL would be followed by open marriage, then no marriage, followed by beastuality, pedifilia and lastly there would be no more rape because no one can deny another enjoyment.

Several States are debating beastuality right now. So Tom, where do you draw the line? If it is at beastuality, welcome to the club as you are now a racist Klan member.

I would agree more if you had taken aim at those who post viscious attacks on the individuals who post ligitimate tractor questions. I have read some over the past few months that have been absolutely shameful. I can only imagine that those who write them must be sitting under a bare bulb in their basement,18 hours a day, reading every post on every forum on here, then switching back and forth to some extremist, black helicopter, anti war, global warming,we're all going to die because of capitalism web site, just to keep the adreniline going. Those are the posts that I want to see an end to.

Tom, I agree with you that some of the posts we see are inappropriate and I have also spoken up against those. I think more of myself than to spend time in the Tractor Wars forum.

However, in this case I felt your reply to the fellow posting the Rosie OT was a bit strong: "This is a tractor forum! Please take your nonsense somewhere else." He meant no harm and was merely being conversational. I'm also willing to believe that you may not have intended to be rude to him at all.

So, in the interest of dignity and integrity, I propose we all try to rise above both truly unacceptable postings and the urge to put down someone who maybe fades off course a bit. The tongue is sharper than the sword, my friends.

Just wait until the 2008 election approches.....
I agree that the non farm related OT posts should be on the other forum.
However the ones on how to straighten a beam and such as that I consider ok.

How true. I made my first post on here about 6 months before the '04 presidential elections. It took all of 2 days to decide to go elsewhere for a while. This site got downright UGLY. I tried again about 2 years back. Seems to be reasonably calm now. And it isn't just this site. Politics has a way of bringing out the worst in some people. I think I'll start stockpiling sand now so's I can stick my head in it during this next round. This upcoming election should prove to be even worse than the last one given the choices we'll have.

Unfortunately, dignity, class, integrity, honesty, and common sense can't be aquired. It seems you either have them or you don't. Expecting those who don't have them to learn how is totally unreasonable. Expecting those who DO have them to understand those who don't may be even more unreasonable.

The other day I asked for information about the two-cyl expo in Waterloo, IA this June. I got one response. There are other forums for topics like Rosie, particularly the ot/politics forum. I know we are all interested in other things besides tractors, but there are forums for all those other things.
